I took my seven year old to the Color Me Mine in Boulder several months ago, and we were having a good time until the owner showed up. She seemed very upset about something and nagged her employee for about half an hour before taking her to a back room and loudly cursing at her. My son and I could hear everything. I quickly left and had to explain to my son why the owner was yelling at the poor girl. I considered writing a review then, but didn’t get around to signing up to yelp.

A couple weeks ago my girlfriend and I took our kids to the new Color Me Mine at the Orchards Mall, which is closer to where we live. I was shocked to see the same owner there. She came out and demanded showing my son how to paint his pottery although I told her I wanted him to do it himself. I wouldn’t care if she had been kind about it, but she was confrontational. Our pottery was done several days after it was promised and had strange bumps all over it (not sure what this means, but it was never an issue at other pottery stores.)

My girlfriend had been to the Orchards Mall location before and hadn’t had any problems, but for me both trips to Color Me Mine annoyed me so much I’d rather make the long trip to Crackpots in Longmont.

We celebrated my daughter’s 5th birthday at Color Me Mine yesterday with 9 of her friends. I was very pleased. We had our own separate area that was already set up for us when we got there. We were allowed to decorate the tables and pretty much “move in”. It was very helpful that they already had some pieces set aside for the girls to choose from because I’m sure it would’ve taken hours if they were allowed to choose from the display:-)

The only thing that was difficult is that the party (per their plan) was scheduled for 2 hours but we were done in about an hour and 40 minutes. I just felt like we were becoming a nuisance while we had to wait for parents to pick up the kiddos. Maybe if they had little additional activities for the younger kids if they have to wait, that would be great. Next time, I’ll just know to bring some things for them to do.

Thanks so much Color Me Mine!

Went here with my 11 year old niece and my 3 year old daughter. The experience of painting and interaction with the very helpful worker were great, the only reason I even gave 2 stars.

When you are finished with your projects, you have to leave them there for it to go in the kiln and come back to get them. On your receipt and in the store, it gives you an estimated finish date when you can pick them up. I went for Mother’s Day gifts and had about 2 weeks so I felt like there was no rush. I went back to pick it up on the day they stated it would be ready and NOT ready. Ok, I am patient, they told me another few days. Knowing better this time, I called first, and still not ready. I received excuses like “busy for Mother’s day” and “no room in the kiln” and “kiln was broken”, etc. We left a review on her website to give some feedback. The owner called us that night and instead of trying to rectify the situation and offer up an apology, she proceeded to yell at my husband and tell him how successful her business was and she couldn’t believe we were upset when it was not their fault. I was SHOCKED. The owner is beyond rude.

Needless to say, even after they promised me both of my items would go in the kiln, they finished one and the other “got left out”. I don’t see how you can leave out an item, especially when we had spoken with the manager multiple times and made it clear the 2 weeks was ample time to finish our stuff. I had to go there on Mother’s Day to get my items for them to give as gifts that day. I will NEVER return to this location again. The concept and the experience is fun so I will find another one to avoid giving any money to the “successful” owner of this business.

    Go to a different location.

Clean, open, well set up space, helpful staff.
Overall a fun place for kids to paint pottery.

They don’t really honor the coupons they print, so watch carefully.

our coupon stated ‘show before purchase’ so we gave the coupon to an elderly woman along with our contact form before we painted, upon completion when we checked out & our amount due seemed high so I checked with the young lady clerk who quickly assured me coupon had been deducted. When we went to pick up our pottery I noticed the coupon had not been deducted and the young man at the store said he couldn’t do anything that perhaps ” you could try it next time” hmmm how long can they keep you coming back with this temptation? Please don’t print the coupons if you can’t handle honoring them.

Boys had fun but felt I was taken. 🙁

Dishonest or unclear about processing times. Don’t expect to get your items when you are told they will be done.

I painted on Dec 20 which was listed as the last possible time to have your stuff for Christmas. I didn’t need it for Christmas, just for New Year, so I figured it would be no problem.

My item was not complete and fired until Jan 10. The owner is the only person who runs the oven and she left for the holidays. Oops! I think maybe she should consider training someone else to run the oven or prepare people to wait 3-4 weeks for their items. There is no excuse for dishonesty.

The place is nice and open, the staff are friendly and helpful, and we had a great time painting. I wouldn’t have spent that much money if I’d known that I wouldn’t have my dish when I needed it.

Their selection of items to paint is much smaller than that of other locations. The staff member that assisted us was great, but the owner, Gloria Schatz is increbily rude to the children in the store. Not just our children but other children in there as well. When confronted she said she was sorry I was offended by her tone. We completed our items so as not to disappoint the kids, but will NEVER return. Not worth the $100 to be treated so poorly.

  • Kelly R.

Good space and has been clean every time I’ve visited. In general, I think this type of place is overpriced and can be a let down for the kids since they walk away empty-handed. You have to find time later to pick up their masterpieces.
Helpfulness of the staff at this one varies greatly. There’s at least one lady there who I’m pretty sure doesn’t like kids at all but a couple are great. Also, the displays are backwards – breakable things are down low where all the kids can reach them while color samples are too high for small kids to see them. Overall, an okay place to spend a rainy day.

Cost about $85 for 3 small pieces of pottery, and when we went to pick up the fired pieces, there were colors on our pottery we hadn’t even used, as well as 10-15 sharp bumps on each side of our pottery. We were told it was from debris floating around in the kiln as it was fired. The person working that night suggested we leave the pieces there so the owner could attempt to “fix” the pottery. When we went to pick up our pieces the second time, a note was on our receipt that said it was the best the owner could do. One piece had another layer of paint put over some marks which made the piece look worse, as another coat of paint appears darker. We now have a swatch of mismatched paint as well as little bumps all over our pottery. The owner never talked to me, or called me, or explained what happened. I left with $85 worth of junk. We have painted pottery many times before and have not had this problem anywhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone, nor will I return again. I would highly recommend Crackpots in Longmont. Better selection, cheaper, and our pottery comes out great every time.

Nice location, good atmosphere. Giving it one star though because after getting our two girls excited about doing some projects, we had to leave. Why? Because according to staff, the boss there stopped offering square tiles (except for birthday guests), which is something we put our girls’ handprints on every year. And WHY did they stop offering square tiles? Because “TOO MANY PEOPLE WANTED THEM.” That’s got to be one of the most a absurd, moronic business policies I’ve ever heard. And they wouldn’t budge. So whining kids in tow, we have to drive 20 minutes away to the place on 104th now. Boooo.

  • Stephanie B.

I imagine it would be a fun place were it not for the owner and her terrible attitude towards her employees and towards children. Sat through 2 hours of her complaining about both when I was trying to have a fun experience with a friend. She also micro-managed my entire project and commented multiple times on the cost of the paint and materials.

Also have to agree on feeling “taken” … I was duped by an online offer then forced to pay a much higher price after I had finished my piece. I got the feeling the teenage employees were afraid of the owner who seemed quite mean and made everything very uncomfortable. I won’t be visiting this store again which is a shame because my son would love it and it’s in a great location.

First the good: We’ve come here on several occasions to let our daughter paint a unique present for an extended family member. She loves to paint them and they love to receive them. They have a wide selection of items to paint, and lots of colors to choose. It’s a great location with plenty of space to move around and let a little one paint.

Last time, however, we were cutting it close on time and we knew it, so we called to find out if it was doable (we went in on Monday and needed it to be ready Friday). We called ahead and were assured it would be ready in time, we asked again when we got there, and finally before we paid.

Lo and behold, Friday comes and it’s not ready. We talked to them and nothing could be done to get it ready (it wasn’t placed in the kiln until Thursday for some unknown reason). We talked with Gloria the owner and nothing could be done, it was still in the kiln. She admitted a new employee probably didn’t know what she was talking about. So we were left with no present before the party. Our four year old daughter was totally distraught that she couldn’t give her mug to grandma, and on top of all that they wouldn’t refund the amount we paid. It was only $16, but it still seemed totally unfair.

Long story short: fun experience but don’t believe anything they tell you. We’ll be finding one of the countless similar places around town for next time.

  • Lucy M.

I love the place, but the owner/manager (Gloria) is rude and overbearing. She is very bossy and doesn’t seem to like kids. The girls that work there are really nice and helpful and the place is clean. Not only is the manager mean to her employees, but also not so nice to the customers. If only it had a different manager/owner. If you could go when she wasn’t there, I am sure it would be a pleasant experience.

  • Taylor J.

Worst customer service. When we picked up our fired pieces, the lid of my daughter’s jewelry box was broken which they admitted to breaking which is fine because these things happen. The employee advised us that we could either take the broken piece (at full price), or come back & paint another. We thought about coming back to paint another piece, but we were told we couldn’t have the original broken piece back if we did that. I asked them what they were going to do w/ my daughter’s jewelry box & she said they sometimes donate them to charities, like a church. We are charitable people, but I doubt any charity wants or benefits from a broken jewelry box painted by 8 year old girl that they don’t know. I can say for certain that my daughter would be upset not getting her jewelry box that she spent 2 hours painting for her grandmother. I told the employee I thought their policy was poor and that I would be writing a review on line & she told me I could do that.

EDIT! I changed it to 2 stars because I came to pick up our pottery– in the allotted time– and they very rudely told me it wasn’t ready, and would be ready the next day. I returned a few days later and they had to search and hunt to find it. The glaze on the handle of the mug has chipped, but I really don’t want to go back there for a re-fire. They acted like I was stupid for coming to pick up– on the date they said it would be ready. RUDE!

Original review: Over the President’s Day holiday, it was a cold, wet, snowy day. We decided that the snow was too mushy to go sledding, but we didn’t want to just sit at a movie. We checked google maps, and sure enough, Color Me Mine was open on that rainy Monday off of school.

I nanny for a 5th grader and we had a blast! This location had parking that was easy (but it could have been due to the snow!) and there were lots of tables to sit at. We enjoyed sitting by the window where we could enjoy the nice sunlight and see the snow falling down outside.

Color Me Mine is a Paint-your-own pottery studio, like many others. They seemed to be semi-full service, as we picked out our pieces (a Happy Hippo figurine for her, a travel mug for me) and then looked at the colors of glaze available. One of the employees helped us pick our glazes and poured them in our palettes, but then welcomed us to getting refills on our own. She didn’t give us much instruction, but since we’d been to similar places before, we didn’t need too much help.

They have lots of different sizes of good-quality paint brushes, sponges, and squirt bottles available. The supplies are neatly organized on shelves so that you can help yourself to the different brushes. The store was clean and with the butcher paper on the tables, we felt like we could make a (reasonable) mess and it was fine.

On Mondays they have a reduced studio fee ($3 a person!) and the price of the pieces was reasonable. We are looking forward to picking up our pieces, all shiny and fired, in about a week.

I am extremely disgusted by my customer service experience here this past Saturday. I used to go to poetry cafe in Boulder when I was a kid- I hadn’t been to a place like this since. At Poetry Café, you just walked in- picked what you wanted and got your paint and painted. That is what I expected. I walked into Color Me Mine with my almost 4 year old nephew (although he looks 6) , to paint something for his mom for mother’s day, could not even get 3 feet in the door without being stopped. One of the young girls rushed up to stop us. She franticly told us we cannot select our own paint- they have to grab it for us- and we would be charged a fee on top of the price of the pottery- ok fine. We also were not allowed to select our own table to paint at- we had to be seated by one of them like at a restaurant. Once we were “assigned” a table- I took my nephew over to select something to paint for his mom. Now I know- you have to watch children around breakable things DUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! As my nephew was trying to select something, he had barley grabbed a plate, and the older lady snatched it out of his hand and said “I WILL TAKE THAT”, very rude giving us attitude. I was wondering “who the heck is this lady and why is she that close to us”. I hate when people try to interfere with my “parenting” (Aunting?) so I was slightly annoyed and said “Oh no that’s ok we got it” I smiled thinking it was just some older lady having a weird way to try to show me she can help. She gave me a snide look and replied “I am the owner and if you drop it on the floor you buy it”. Uhhhhhh ok- wasn’t planning on shattering all of your pottery on the floor, but ok thanks for the FYI! What a way to introduce herself! HOW RUDE! I was very turned off by this point and, if my nephew wasn’t set on completing the project, we would have just left- but he was- so we stayed. We went back to our assigned table, goodness forbid we sat at the wrong table. We had to wait for about 10 minutes to even get paint- since we were not allowed to select our own. We finally got some- and they gave us the smallest smidge of paint. About 5 minutes into painting- I looked over and saw the owner whispering to one of the younger employees, looking at us, and pointing. About 2 seconds later, the younger girl came over and asked if we needed help- I again said NO THANK YOU. She continued to hover around us, watching. I felt like a 16 year old in a retail store where the employees think I am trying to steal something- uhhh I was just trying to help my nephew make a present for his mom- but ok thanks. At this point I felt totally awkward and weird so we hurried to get out of there as quickly as we could. It is quite obvious to me that the owner does not like young children- ummmmm just a piece of advice lady, perhaps you shouldn’t run a business that is basically catered towards kids- there was a whole birthday party in there of children probably no older than 6 running ramped through the store- she did not seem to say anything to them- because they are paying a lot of money? I just didn’t get it. I almost felt like we were- discriminated against or something, for lack of a better term. The owner made it very very clear that she did not want our business and don’t worry lady- we won’t be back. If you have young children- I DO NOT recommend coming here unless you want to be watched every move and have some strange older lady snatching pottery out of your child’s’ hand. I only gave it 2 stars- instead of none- because the other younger girls were very nice and I could tell they were just trying to do their job. Over priced and horrible customer service!

  • Anna K.

Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone… Especially anyone with children. The owner is absolutely horrible to her customers and just rude in general. Wish I would have taken my money elsewhere. The poor girls who work there… They are totally sweet and are just trying to do their job but you can tell they are terrified of the owner. Not sure how she manages to stay in business or even keep a staff to run the place.

Service is very much lacking here. When I came in to paint something for Father’s Day with my little one (which, by the way, the doors are hard to open while pushing a stroller through, and as I struggled the staff just watched without offering any kind of help). When I finished my piece, the staff person told me that it would be done by today, so I drove over this morning. When I arrived they told me my piece wasn’t ready yet, but would be ready in about half an hour. I walked around the mall and came back a few minutes after it was supposedly ready. It still wasn’t done, so I said I would just wait, thinking it would only be a few more minutes and that the staff person actually had a clue about what she was talking about when she initially told me a half hour. An hour later, it still wasn’t done, and I finally had to just give up and leave and get on with my day. I pointed out that I had been sitting there an additional hour waiting for it, and asked when it would be done. She checked and said it would take at least another hour. So I agreed to wait for a phone call when it was ready. After I left, it took about 40 minutes before they called. Argh! What a waste of time, and what rude service. No one had checked or updated me at all during the time I was waiting. Instead of apologizing, all she kept saying was “It’s in the kilm” (you should know that it’s actually a kiln, not a kilm, dear. Clearly they did not train you to know what was used to bake the ceramic pottery).

The final product looks…ok. There’s a chip in the glaze that is sizable as well as clear streaks going across my piece that are very noticeable in any light; presumably glaze that was not applied evenly or smoothed out.

Save your money and go somewhere that gives a positive experience for customers – choosing and making the pottery, strong customer service, and an excellent finished product, especially since you can very easily spend a lot of money here. This place does not and doesn’t deserve the customers.

  • Jess B.

Horrible customer service. Extremely disappointed with my trip to color me mine. Most of the staff had no idea what they were talking about. We asked one of the girls how to do the marbling technique, she told us what to do and we started. It took just a few minutes to realize that wasn’t right, so we asked another girl and sure enough she gave us totally different instructions. When I was going up the get my paint there was an older lady who was just staring at me like I had just grabbed the paint she wanted so I asked “oh I’m sorry do you need this?” She replied “no. I’m the owner, just trying to help.” Well excuse me ms owner lady. I was taken aback by how rude she was and then way she introduced herself. I will definitely be bringing my business somewhere else next time.

  • Brandy F.

Horrible horrible customer service. Went to pick up some pieces my son and I did. They tried to pass off a piece as mine that wasn’t mine. They looked for the piece for an hour and then refused to refund me. The owner Gloria is a real peach and told me to shut up and get over it. So instead of trying to make it right she insulted me. I do understand there policy says no refunds but if you didn’t want bad information about your business put on the internet you think you would try a little harder to deliver some customer service.

So great I had to go back the next day to paint some more!!!! I recommend Color Me Mine to all my friends and customers. Staff was extremely knowledgeable about the best techniques and gave great tips. Very kid friendly. I showed up a little late on a Friday and was able to put my base coat on and they let me come back to finish! Glazed and fired in a very timely fashion. They call you when it’s ready so you don’t have to worry about showing up and not having it finished. I will be a repeat customer!!! Thank you Color Me Mine!

Had a bad experience my first time here, but I decided to try it again.

Painting experience was fine, and the girl working there at the time was helpful. My daughter and I painted a picture frame for my husband’s birthday. I was assured that the backing and glass would be put on for me after the frame front was fired.

Picked up my items today, and the back of the picture frame was glued on upside down. The frame backing was designed to only work one way. We had put “daddy” on the frame, so it should have been obvious which way was up.

I happened to look at it before leaving the Orchard, so I went back and showed it to the employee. She wouldn’t do anything to fix it. She told me that I could pull it off and re-glue it myself. For the $30 I paid for this 5×7 frame (which sounds high imho), not including the studio fees and taxes, they should have made it right. They gave me an item that they screwed up and they couldn’t care less.

Both times I’ve come here, I’ve waited and waited for the call to come pick up my items. The first time, they gave my items to someone else (a friend we had been there with). Luckily our friends told us they had taken our things back to the store. When we went to pick them up, the employee made a snarky remark about it being ready for pick up for a week (really? But nobody called to tell us?). This time, no call but I was nearby so I stopped in, and sure enough it was ready but with no notification. Maybe the teenagers working there could make some calls when business is slow. You know, like they are supposed to?

  • Jennifer L.

Under new management and it is FABULOUS!! Staff amazingly helpful, flexible, and friendly. Very knowledgeable, willing to teach new techniques and help with ideas. Tons and tons of product, space, and kids activities, would highly recommend this location!!!

  • Nina J.

I would not recommend this place for a party. We had our daughter’s 7th birthday party here and it was one thing after another that caused it to go sour. It started with me getting a call the night before informing me that they moved locations. I had booked and paid for this party 2 months in advance, had invitations out for weeks and I get a call the night before to tell me they moved locations…..ridiculous. I tried my best to reach out to all guests the night before but there was still confusion and folks were late trying to find the new location. The layout of the new space was awful. It was cramped and crowded. Parents couldn’t get around the crowded tables and the paints for other guests were behind our party so people had to keep excusing themselves as they walked through our party. The host didn’t explain to the kids that only 1 piece of pottery would be painted and she disappeared for 20 minutes leaving the kids alone to paint. The kids were done in 30 minutes and nothing else was planned for the remainder of the time. The kids got bored and restless. Luckily we brought snacks and took the kids outside to the playground. When I complained to the assistant manager, she didn’t really care and offered up $5 off the cost of 1 piece of pottery. It was a waste of money and not a great time. I have been to other pottery painting parties and would suggest looking at alternate places. Don’t waste your time or money on this place.

Website stated an all month April special of $10/painter every Thursday from 6-9pm. Brought my daughter in at 7:15, was told they close at 8. Fine, but then we were rushed along and asked to check out at 7:30 so they could close the register. So… you close at 7:30. If you close at 8, you close the register at 8. Super unfriendly and unhelpful teenage girls working, asked for more glitter paint like someone else was using and got the response “well if it isn’t out I guess we don’t have it. I don’t know.” My piece turned out nothing like I wanted it to because we were so rushed. I’ve since sent an email voicing my complaints with no response. Won’t be back except to pick up my pieces. Let’s see if they even call to tell me they’re ready.

  • Missy A.

Awful experience all around. Horrible customer service. They didn’t let us know until we were half way through painting that it would take 7 days to get the finished product. Since we were visiting from out of town, we never received my son’s piece. They also refused to ship it to us. Never having done anything like this before, it never occurred to me that it would take more than a few hours to receive the finished product. While trying to figure out what to do about our predicament, I had asked to speak to a manager. She never came to speak to me, but just sent a message with the cashier that there was nothing she could do. The cashier then said “bummer” and proceeded to tell me my total. Even after multiple attempts to contact the store and corporate I just kept getting the runaround. Never received the product or a refund… or any kind of apology. Overall, I have no desire to do anything like this again. Completely overpriced and so very clear that they care nothing for their customers.

Spur of the moment decision to go paint pottery. Decided on some Christmas ornaments. The girls there were so very helpful and patient with my children. We had a blast and definitely will be back. Good wholesome family fun.

  • Dina M.

Took my kids there on Sunday, April 29th at 2:00pm to paint. When we walked in, we were approached by a girl who worked there and was told they were closing at 4:00 due to a private party. I said that was fine and that we would be gone by then. She said that was fine. My girls started looking for pottery to paint. Approached by second girl who worked there, said the same. Again, told her we would be gone by the time they needed us to be done. She said ok. My girls got ready to paint. Third girl who worked there came up to me and said “You can’t paint, and nobody told you that you can paint!” Stunned, I pointed out the two girls who had already told me we could paint. She said that they obviously didn’t know what was going on. Anyhow, totally rude third girl with a nasty attitude accusing me of something false. Dumb. Never returning.

  • Lindsay W.

My 5 year old son and I had a great time painting. The place was clean and tidy and the staff was very helpful. The colors are easily marked and accessible. Our pottery was done in about a week, they called to let me know and it was wrapped for us to pick up. I would give it 5 stars but I feel like it was a bit proverb than most other painting places. We will be back.

  • Chris P.

We had a nice enough time painting our pottery. The staff wasn’t especially helpful, but that was okay, it was just pottery painting. However, when we left our pottery to be fired, the person that did it, apparently did something wrong, and one of our pieces chipped in a major way. When they called to tell us it was ready, they said the piece was damaged, and they’d compensate us. But when my wife got there, they’d thrown the piece away. They did keep a picture to show how badly it damaged it was. To compensate us, they refunded the studio fee and the price of the pottery. That’s kind of expected…after all, we didn’t get what we paid for. But there was no apology or offer to make it right. And when my wife tried to explain that we would have liked to have kept the piece, because it was our wedding anniversary, and the whole thing was important to us, the manager literally ROLLED HER EYES. Can you imagine that? They broke something we spent 3 hours making, and she rolls here eyes? And she didn’t offer anything else to make it right. We will never go back there, and I suggest you do not go either if you actually care about what you create, or expect management to care about what you create.

This is the first time I’ve been to this location and I will not be back. The 2 young girls working were in no way friendly or helpful. My daughter is 4 and she accidentally spilled the water for rinsing brushes. As the girls were not up in the front area most of the time, I proceeded to change to a different table and try not to make a bigger mess. I then cleaned up the mess because the there was total oblivion to the fact that a child had accidental spilled water. We sat and painted for at least 15 more minutes before one of the girls finally noticed the water on the floor and that we had moved to a different table. She started to clean up the only part left uncleaned by myself and the whole time giving snotty looks and a definite attitude about it. When we were done painting it had evolved into her assuming that we had painted something else and not alerting them like we were trying to steal from them or something!!!! I explained that we had moved due to the water spilling and got a huffy non response in return. I was not even given the normal out the door instructions of waiting for a call to return to pick up outlet painted item! Anyhow as I said definitely will not be back. Typically we go to southwest plaza as they are always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make the kids feel awesome and have fun!

Had a very bad experience First and Last time to come here!! We had our youth group 8 of us we made a reservation! The shop called me THREE different times the day before, we added 2 people, we got there and know one knew this. They were not going to be able to accommodate us but someone left so they did. For a group the things they did for us is push two tables together then in the 2 hrs we were there they came and visited our table once and got us fresh water bowls the rest of the time they say in the back room visiting! For this they charged us gratuity we spent over $200 and the tip was $45 FOR A BOWL OF WATER!! Then when i picked up the pieces i asked for individuals bags to distribute my $40 pottery to my kids the person working made a disgusted remark about getting them bags! TERRIBLE PLACE DON’T GO

  • Melissa E.

Went here on Valentine’s for their candle lit painting. My husband and I hadn’t made a reservation as we didn’t know when we could show up, but were pleasantly surprised to find many free tables when we came in at 7:30pm. We had checked what time they close online (9pm) so figured we would be fine on time. Upon arriving we were told that they couldn’t seat us as they would be “closing soon”, when I brought up that they don’t close till 9 the brown haired woman sighed and said it would take “several hours” (??) to paint anything and that they kick people out before 9. Yes, she actually said kick them out. I said I was sure my husband and I could pick something small and complete it in time. She sighed again but didn’t protest further. We had to seat ourselves and after picking our paints she came over and tossed the pinned form for our names on the table. I should note that there were probably 5-6 other couples and that the “candlelight” painting was just two fake flame votives on each table with a couple. Kind of lame already but she didn’t even put them on our table. Anyway we painted. For the next hour this woman, only her, the other employee seemed calm, hovered around all the tables and rushed people. She said they were closing soon, she needed to check them out, there wasn’t much time left, etc. She had us check out at 8pm but we still got to paint. Other tables were complaining some as well that it wasn’t even 9pm yet, and to that she would say that they could keep painting (how nice of her?). My husband and I finished our pieces and left. We were driving away at 8:38pm, plenty of time to spare and definitely not several hours like she claimed we needed. This attitude was completely unprofessional. If she wants people out the door an hour before closing she needs to have a sign on the front door next to the hours that gives a last starting time. Having a place close at 9PM but kick customers out early and make them feel awkward and unwelcome an hour and a half before closing is ridiculous. This location gets two stars only because the actual reason for going was just fine, it would be one star if based solely on that nasty woman.

I came in to paint tonight and the studio was completely full with only ONE employee working! Who has only one person working on a Friday night?
It was crazy busy and the poor kid was clearly stressed out. I felt so bad for her that I turned right around and left.
Hopefully they figure out their staffing issues or they’ll keep losing business.

I booked my daughters 8th Birthday party and I for sure thought it would be a good experience. We have never been to one of these. When I first walked in I stood there for a good a few minutes, because nobody came to greet me or tell me where I needed to be in go. Someone finally came up to me and asked if I was there for the party. I said yes she led me back to two tables and said these are your tables and walked away. Again we have never been here before. I had to go up to the three young workers 3-4 times to ask for guidance. I didn’t know where the paint was, or if I was supposed to check in or anything. I finally asked what people typically do and their answer was pick a piece and get your paint. Workers were absolutely useless and did not provide any help or guidance unless I asked a million questions. For the company to put a 15% mandatory tip is absurd! Please don’t waste your money here and go else where.

    DO NOT GO HERE…..
between the long waits and the unprofessional staff you will not be happy.

The first 3 times we went in things were great, after that, my pieces went missing, pieces are being destroyed or altered, and when something is said to them, you get an excuse of “well that’s our busy time of the year so things are bound to happen”.

I’m sorry do what? It’s your busy time of the year so I have to deal with it? I spend good money to do this and expect quality product with professionalism.

I will NEVER use this place again. $1,000+ dollars spent in 2 months here (between family functions and team) and it doesn’t matter. They are a chain so customer retention is not a priority to them.

Go find you a small studio that wants your business and values you as a customer. We found an amazing one!

Oh don’t get me started on the to go kits either. They tried charging me for a party $100 plus studio fees, plus pottery because 12 pieces were going to be purchased (not even by the same people). Well come to find out, a to go party is only $50 anyways.

Please take my advice and steer clear. There are better studios around with better selections of pottery!!!!
