The best part about the Northglenn Rec is that everything is really affordable, because the place is a bit older than other rec centers. You can get swimming lessons, gym usage, yearly passes, plays, pre-school, etc. all at a great price.
The pool here is just a lap pool, nothing to bring the kids to for fun, just swimming lessons.
They have little local plays that are really fun for the kids, and they are actually quite good!
Northglenn rec center is one of the best in the area. Their swim lessons for kids teach more useful skills than some of the other centers. Staff members are friendly to everyone who comes in, and they seem to try to go out of their way to provide good customer service to everyone of all ages. It’s an older building, but they maintain it quite well. We are not Northglenn residents but we visit this rec center more than others.
My children’s dance team used their gym for practice before their halftime performance. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. We’ve had shows at their theater as well. I’m forever a fan of Northglenn and can’t wait for next years facility
The new Northglenn Rec Center is a HUGE disappointment . I was quite looking forward to actually joining the center with a 1 year membership and there is no way that will happen for this lady. My daughter joined me for this visit.
The pool is freezing, the lazy river bombards you with overhead water sprays that are also COLD. Passing through the pools passive gateway to the “bubble bench” gives you a jolt of cold water that transitions to the bench of jets that are all at one level, fair in pressure, and by no means relaxing…as they are COLD. The deck around the pool is extremely rough. If you aren’t a barefooter and have tough skin, it hurts walking to the pool’s steps. I do understand the purpose for roughness but…this is ROUGH. And the overall climate in the aquatics center is COLD. I am no wimp. But so very sad that I waited all this time for an updated facility that I can’t enjoy. I guess I’ll have to join a non resident facility that we have much better and thoughtful accomodations at. This was not an epic moment. We were so cold at all points that the entrance fee was a waste for my disabled daughter and myself. We didn’t stay more than 30 minutes start to finish. We won’t be back.
We went to the newly renovated Northglenn recreation center yesterday. My kids have been wanting to check out the pool.
The first thing I loved were the family changing rooms were huge. We’re a family of 6, and typically the family changing rooms are tight for us to all fit and change comfortably. But these are the perfect size. Plus, they have bathrooms and showers right there so you have everything you need.
The kids loved the pool. The older kids really liked the slide which you can see from the outside. The slide has a large timer so you can see how long it takes you to come down compared to other visitors. They loved this!
They also loved the lazy river. The pool was heated and felt slightly warm. I was disappointed that they did not have a jacuzzi. We love to end any pool visit in the jacuzzi.
Overall, we were happy with this pool and will be back.
We had a nice visit to the newly renovated rec center. I made the mistake of walking all the way to the old building that says “northglenn recreation center” but that building is closed and the renovated building is the one right in front of the parking lot. There was ample parking, I just wish there were more spots with shade since it was 80 degrees when we went.
The inside is huge and clean. There are so many activities that you can do inside-pools, courts, etc. There are family changing rooms and locker rooms that both have showers. There is a soap dispenser on the wall in the showers, and all of them were clean. The staff was great. There are also vending machines inside if you want a little snack-there are some healthy options inside. Overall a nice visit and will definitely be back
So Northglenn Rec Center wants to kick me out of the rest of the games for the kids basketball season. The refs they use can’t take being told they suck. So the ref had me removed from the game. And then some Karen of a parent in the hall that had nothing to do with the situation or could see/hear what happened decided to chime in when I was leaving the building as well as came up from behind me and started shoving me around when my back was turned. I was told that I can not return for one week after talking to the cops and decided not to press charges as along as the other parent was also removed. Now I am being told to day I am not allowed back to watch either one of my kids. So now that I am being punished for the other person wanting to get physical I will be calling the officers that responded and going forward with pressing charges. I respect the original decision of not allowing me to come for the next game. But to remove me for the season is bullshit. O and they are going to let the person that assaulted me from behind still gets to go to the games.
Very nice place!! Went for baby shower. Very clean and nice employees! Had a great time. Thank you!
This place cheats little children out of winning basketball games because the score keepers are friends with opposing team coaches… they are incompetent and add scores for their friends… when a parent tried talking to the coach of his child’s team about it the referee and score keeper ran up to him, got in his face and yelled at him to leave… the guy didnt back down and told them lots of nice words but eventually started walking away… the referee and score keeper kept walking up close to him trying to intimidate him and when the guy said im not afraid of you, they threatened with police… well, the guy got banned and whatever… this place is a joke…
