It features three indoor hills and a play gym zone where kids can practice skiing and snowboarding year-round, regardless of the weather, making it perfect for winter or summer activities[2][3].

The facility also hosts engaging themed camps—like superhero adventures and dinosaur explorations—which combine skill-building with imaginative play[1]. Additionally, Shredder offers birthday party packages where kids can celebrate with friends while enjoying access to the slopes and fun play areas, creating memorable and active celebrations[3][4].
Shredder’s programs emphasize not only teaching technical skills like turning, stopping, and balance but also safety principles through their unique SHRED Code. This helps kids gain confidence and independence in a structured, positive social environment that supports both their physical and emotional growth[5][6]. Families appreciate the convenience of an indoor location with mountain views, enabling kids to stay active and build lifelong skiing or snowboarding passion regardless of season or weather conditions[2][3][8].

This is a preventative/safety PSA to inform others of the potential hazards at Shredder Gym in Boulder. They have a large rectangular trampoline in the back room that is four feet off of the ground on metal legs with NO NET around it. There is a cement floor on one side and a 2 inch pad on the other. Walls are on the other two sides. My 5-year-old daughter fell off of it our first night there. We weren’t given a tour of the facility when we arrived, so we didn’t know what was in the back room at all. When my daughter fell, the instructor was not in the room, nor was any adult. We were told that the kids were going back there to stretch and do games. Parents are not invited to go into that room and all that is visible of it is the doorway. The instructor told the kids to go “jump around” while he gathered supplies in another room. We assumed “jump around” meant to go be silly on the mats. I remember looking at my husband and saying, “Where is she? Is there someone back there with those kids?” It was at that moment that she came out crying after her fall. We went back to investigate and were shocked to see that the kids had been on a giant unprotected trampoline without an adult in sight. I wish I could tell every mom in Boulder county about this. I am worried that a child could get seriously injured there (neck/spine/head injury). My daughter is traumatized but fine, thank goodness. I called the next day to talk to the owner. I was told that neither of the owners were “in” that day and they didn’t know when they would ever be in. As in, forget ever getting a message relayed to them! The person I spoke with (Brent) did not offer to give my number to them or have them call me. He scoffed at me (yes, out loud) when I said that I guess I’ll have to track down their personal numbers myself. He obviously doesn’t have kids nor does he realize how serious this situation is. I sent one of the owners a message on his personal Facebook page (yes, it was him, it says Owner of Shredder Gym on his page) and didn’t hear back. Surprise, surprise! The instructor we had was not invested in the safety of my child or the other children in that class. The business isn’t invested in safety either. If they were, there would be a net around that trampoline and the owners would make sure that the instructors knew never to leave children unattended for any reason in the back room! This isn’t the 70’s! If I could give zero stars, I would!
My 2 y/o loves going to “the gym.” We enrolled our LO in a weekly class that encourages and develops the use of core strength and coordination through showing the way to jumping with 2 feet, walking down the hill, bouncing on the air track, and walking through the course, among other active activities.
Safety is always a concern. I think common sense can go a long way though. I know my kid is going to fall sometimes. I can’t speak for the other reviewers experience and would say I would be upset myself if we had that experience, but we have had nothing but good times at Shredder.
Lastly, they recently went under a management change. I hope business goes well for them.
Shredder gym is a favorite for my two active little boys. The staff has always been super nice and accommodating. The activities are perfect for getting my boys prepared for ski season, and giving them an overall workout (i.e, wearing them out!) Shredder Boulder rocks!
My kids attended a Shredder camp this summer. They were reluctant at first to try something they were unfamiliar with. Immediately they were welcomed in and were encouraged to join in with the other kids. The instructors were very attentive and fun. It seemed like the kids were active and creative all throughout the day. I felt that the gym was safe and the children were closely supervised the entire time. The trampoline was closely monitored with strick safety rules as was the indoor sledding and mat gymnastics.
I hope to find another day to drop in and have my kids spend the day at Shredder since they loved the activities so much.
My child was enrolled in Shredder classes for the past 8 months and really enjoyed his class mainly due to his coach. In the recent months Shredder has gone under new management and the staff and coach my son grew to love are no longer at the facility. Shredder was a fun place for my child to play but what made the place unique was the staff and the phenomenal coach we had. We will no longer be attending Shredder.
We have our twin boys enrolled at Shredder for the YETI parent/child class. The absolutely love it. The younger kids in the YETI program get on skis a couple times a class to get them feeling good on skis but we love the gym component of it where they practice new exercises which help develop core and balance. Super friendly staff who have fun but are always looking out for safety.
This review is for the Bday party only (not the ski or snowboard sessions). My daughter had her 7th bday party here and I can’t say enough good things about them. I had never been here but my daughter loves to ski and I thought this would be a good place to have her party. Brook was great, he was very friendly and professional. Max and Tim did a fantastic job during the party with the kids!! They did different activities including air tracks, dodge ball and sledding on the slopes. I liked how they were very organized and went over all the safety rules with the kids. Max and Tim also did a great job with the kids during all the activities, taking time with them. I appreciate that. We’ll going to take our 7yr old and 3yr old for the indoor ski session. If you’re thinking of a new place to try have a bday party for your kids, I would highly recommend Shedders!!! Thanks Shredder’s! We’ll see you guys soon!!
Shedder Ski & Snowboard Gym is the perfect way to introduce your kids to winter sports. I was nervous about skiing with my kids ages 4, 7, and 11 because they were at different skill levels and needed to learn to ski safely before we could get out together. My kids were able to get really comfortable with their gear which was very helpful, learn the basics, and gain confidence. The classes were so much fun for them. Within several weeks all of my kids were so excited and confident that we were able to get out and ski together as a family. Because of the extra preparation we were able to have a really great experience together. They went from being nervous to completely excited and quite skilled. I would recommend classes at the Shredder Gym to kids of all ages. They can get ready for the season before the season starts!

Shredder is one of a kind. You can only find these kinds of things in a mountain state. We moved from sunny Los Angeles last year and wanted get our little 5 yr old on skis as fast as possible with very little pain. Not literal physical pain (well, that too), but the agony of learning how to walk in boots, click into skis, walk in skis etc. When I learned to ski as a child, I felt like that was half of skiing. And I even saw it on the bunny slopes this winter. kids crying on the ground in the snow from pure frustration of being new to the boots and bindings world. After one session at Shredder, my son picked up skiing very quickly and that’s what we wanted. The instructors are great and communicative. At the end they always inform us of what lessons they had and what they worked on. It’s rare to find this kind of communication from a kids gym and it’s SO important to the parents or at least the ones that I know.
Once we transferred him to the real slopes it took him several times to figure it all out. Then after two lessons, he’s skiing the green slopes like it’s his second home. We’ve been meaning to go back soon as it’s off season to keep him in ski shape. My son truly enjoyed Shredder.
My first impression when I heard about Shredder was, “No way. You do not ski inside…” Wow, was I way off. I have 2 kids in class there weekly – 3 and 5 years old. After day 1 of the class, I realized the true value of Shredder. I want my kids to love skiing and winter as much as I do, but know my ‘enthusiasm’ can be detrimental to that goal at times. They need to learn to love it themselves. Shredder enables the kids to learn the basics – learning the equipment, how to maneuver, how to get up from a fall, how to side step up, how to slide down and control your stop, etc. And they can do this in a controlled, comfortable environment. That is the key. Once they are comfortable with the basics, we get to introduce the clothes, cold and wind. It really is a no brainer when you stop and think about the value. Plus, it is SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than on hill lessons.
To truly get the value described above though, you do need good people running the place. And Shredder does not disappoint. My girls LOVE going to class each week. The instructors are all extremely attentive, and want my girls to love skiing as much as I do. They are age appropriate, fun, skill level appropriate, and excited to be working with kids.
All in all, I cannot speak highly enough about the kids ski program at Shredder. I have no clue who the owners are, nor do I have any connection with the place – I am merely a very satisfied customer who felt compelled to share. Bring on the ski season!!
This is definitely a one-of-a-kind business! What a brilliant idea for kids to learn the skills without the hassles of all the gear and weather that comes with real skiing. My kid started the Yeti class when he was 1ish, then moved into the ski class at 2.5. We took him to the slopes that same winter, and he did great after all the great instruction he received from Brooks and Max. Now he’s ready to start the next wave of ski lessons as a 3.5-year-old with Brooks, Max, and Mac, and he’s very excited. The best motivator is how these guys really do well at building relationships with these kids. Highly recommended!!!
Wow! I’m so happy we found Shredder. We know Brooks from the Little Gym and so we know he was great with the kiddos already. We wanted to get our kids skiing this year, but taking two 7 yo and a 4 yo seemed overwhelming both with cost and logistics. We discovered Shredder and it’s great!
My twins are stopping, turning and know how to get on and off a lift after a 6 week session. Now they are excited to go to the mountains so I’m not so worried about waking everyone up early and getting us out the door. I also don’t feel we will be spending a fortune on ski lessons just to enjoy skiing as a family. Now everyone can enjoy the day together.
As a former ski instructor, I highly recommend starting at Shredder. No reason to be cold and layered up just to learn the basics!
This place is great. Our daughter did these lessons last winter and this Fall, and she loves it. She started when she was two and we had a great winter skiing the yard and the sledding hills, outside of class. Now that she’s learned the basics where it’s warm and dry, when we invest the time and money into a day at the ski area we all have more fun. Still plenty for her to learn on the snow, but it’s given her a great head start. We highly recommend it.
I think Shredder is a great place to learn the fundamentals of skiing without dealing with all the winter elements with the little kiddos. My 5 year old did classes all last year, and he is skiing! He learned to make turns and be very confident on the mountain! I will be putting my 3 year old in classes in January. Go check them out!!
These guys take care of 80% of the work for us parents. I thought they just taught the kids how to put on their equipment, do a ‘pie’ & ‘French fries’. I was good with just that! However, they teach them so much more. They have an awesome team learning how to go down hills while lifting their skis. They show them the stance for good posture. Kids learn to hike around obstacles and also to carry their gear! All I have to do is prepare her for blizzards and have hot cocoa ready.
Recently moved from Chicago and put my 2 and 4 year old in classes here. They love it and have learned so much. I appreciate the fact that parents are not allowed to stay and distract the kids as they learn but there are still open gym times available for parent to be involved. All week my kids ask when they can go back to ski school and I’ve already seen significant progress. Highly recommend.
These guys make skiing/snowboarding fun for the little ones! Our daughter started off in the parent-child session at age 2, and then progressed to group sessions with other little ones and without a parent. She loves it! She loves the staff, and she loves the skiing.
Because of these classes, she can go on the magic carpet at the ski resorts over and over again. She’s learned to put on her ski boots and carry her skis by herself. All this independence is because of Shredder.
I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to introduce skiing to a little one without having to deal with the whining and complaining about being cold or having to wear mittens because of the snow. It is so worth it to help the little ones develop a love for the sport!
My child took ski lessons from shredder this season and they have really helped his confidence on the slopes! This is a worthwhile investment in your child as they truly learn skills that make them great skiers!
All around GREAT!!!
The instructors are fun and our kids love them. We have been going here on and off for 2 years and had our sons birthday party here.
Every experience has been awesome!!!
We started my son at 2 and he just did Eldorables 5 week program. I feel like Shredders was worth every penny!
We just finished a 14-week long ski class for my 4 year old son and I can’t say enough good things about these guys. On our first day my son refused to even put on his ski boots, let alone let me leave his side. By the second class he would only walk around in his boots, but you couldn’t dare force him to put on his skis. Brooks and Max (and the other guys whose names I may not remember) were awesome. They were so patient, and really helped meet my son where he was at and helped him slowly gain comfort and confidence.
By the sixth class my son let me leave him, and by class 10 or so he was skiing alone down the “big hill.” Brooks encouraged us to take our son on a real run at the ski resort (to our surprise- we thought we’d be doing the magic carpet for another year). We took him out on a green run and he did AWESOME. I mean he could do pizza and was even able to try some turns.
I cannot believe that these guys got my very-cautious son to not only learn how to ski, but give him the skills and confidence to LOVE it. Highly recommend these ski classes if you want your ski experience with your young kid to be a positive one. Thanks Shredder!
I grew up near Eldora, back when they had one hour tickets super cheap so my parents would take us all the time starting when I was tiny. I always felt so lucky to have learnt how to ski before I could remember all the hard parts! Now it’s a long drive and a big expense to ski anywhere with kids and you KNOW they won’t last an hour out on the snow, so of course I never get around to taking them up with me.
Enter the amazing Shredder school! It’s close by, it’s a lot cheaper than a lift ticket, and it’s indoors! My daughter, who refuses to wear anything but dresses, loves skiing so much now that she will happily put on pants on Wednesdays for Shredder! THAT IS A HUGE DEAL!!! The guys do all the hard work of getting their boots and skis on, getting them up the hill, and teaching them all the skills they need to hit the snow with mom and/or dad. By next winter I’m confident she’ll be able to make some real turns with me when we get out, or be able to have a half day in ski school without it being all tears, because Shredder School has made skiing SOOO much fun for her!
The class definitely helps the kids to learn how to ski fast. My kids just started skiing with no problems when I take them to eldora.
The only complaint I have is when there are only 2-3 kids in the class, they do not let the kids practice more runs, instead they just end the class early, but we pay fees per class not just 3 or 4 runs per class I think.
These guys are great! I have my 3 year old daughter in their class and I was blown away at the first class and continue to be impressed. They have a great system and they make it fun for the kids. Brooks is awesome as are all the other staff that helps out. This will save me a ton of brain damage on the slopes. I think it is worth every penny.
Really great facilities. Really solid coach! The big problem is the amount of time on the hill. For a 45 min class, the kids (4 year old in my case) was only on the hill skiing for 20 min most days. With four kids and bathroom breaks, this meant some days he would get two runs in. Just a waste of time. They really don’t need to teach the kids about the difference between green and blue runs for 25 min. Stuff like that is a waste of time.
After a full session here, my 4 y/o could ski greens independently and safely on day 1 at Keystone. These coaches are amazing! We didn’t need a leash or edgie wedgie because she had the proper technique by the time we got to the snow. Coach G was helpful in answering questions from parents on how to help our kids on the mountain. Highly recommend this over resort lessons.
The Littleton location is great. Coach Will seems to work very well with little ones. Small classes means each student gets a lot of attention from the coach. This is a super convenient and cost effective way for little ones to get introduced to skiing and snowboarding. Forget about fighting traffic and weather, renting gear, and paying for lift tickets. If you’re looking to introduce your little ones to snow sports, Shredder is the ticket. This location in particular is a big space that is dated with a cheerleading gym. Which means there are lots of things to keep kids busy and exhausted before and after class.
I’m really disappointed with our experience at this indoor ski program. The manager, cooper, seemed completely disengaged and unprofessional, and honestly, just doesn’t seem good with kids. During our previous private lesson, they spent more time arguing over who would carry the skis, which wasted about half of the lesson. My daughter just turned 4 and is petite, so it is challenging for her to carry them. Learning basic skills like the pizza should take priority over this kind of unnecessary back-and-forth, especially for a private lesson. I eventually offered to carry the skis myself, and he awkwardly handed them to me and just stood there silently watching me as I carried them each time for the remaining time. It felt like he didn’t want to be there during the past two lessons, which is frustrating. The first instructor we had was fantastic & my daughter was excited to carry the skis with him. I’ve heard similar complaints from other parents at my daughter’s school about this manager. It’s clear that the leadership here needs a major overhaul. I wouldn’t recommend this program with this manager, cooper, in charge.
