I love this rec center. The only reason I gave it a 3 is the fact that it is ALWAYS so crowded. It’s clean and the women’s locker room actually does not have any bad odor…a first at any gym for me. The showers are also private. They have a great jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and I love their lap pool. Love this place….all but the crowds.

I come here several times over the past 3 years for swimming. So I use the pool and occasionally the indoor track. However, I am not a member, so I can’t speak to the rest of the facility.

I will say that their catalog offers a variety of classes, including indoor spinning, yoga, Pilates, barre, boot camps, etc. There is an indoor track with lanes for runners and walkers, a basketball court, racquetball courts, weight room and cardio equipment and an indoor pool with locker rooms, a family changing room and a sauna. There is free Wifi here and the staff is always friendly.

Since I’m on a triathlon team, when I am here, we are here for swimming. The pool is warm, generally heated, with a lifeguard is always on duty. The pool is always maintained. There are some pool “toys” for usage to the general public: pull buoys and kickboards. There are locker rooms with plenty of lockers, showers and bathroom stalls. I love using the heated pool, it’s the best!

The staff is always friendly. A few years ago another recreation center cancelled my daughters schedules birthday party on the day of the party.
    Englewood recreation accommodated is immediately.
The swimming pool is great for all ages. It’s always clean and staff is great!

Hard to leave a mixed review for a place I have to frequent. But my lack of stars comes for multiple reasons – first, I only come here to play racquetball and they have a different pay schedule just to use a court than if you’re doing anything else. $10 for 1 hour. If you only play twice a week, that’s $80. Even if you split it its $40 a month. And that’s just to get a little work out in. Most racquetball players play for at least 2 hours so you don’t have to hurry in between games.

The bathrooms always feel like walking into a park restroom. They say they fixed the ac but they still have these stand alone swamp coolers. The racquetball floors are so bad it feels like you’re on an ice skating rink. For that reason alone englewood, I can’t come here any longer. I tried to make it work but in the end I must leave you.

My husband and I have patronized the rec center since moving to Englewood in 2013. I give high marks for the gym and classes. The staff in those areas are great!

The child care option at the gym is not worth the fee, though. I don’t mind paying upfront for service, but I think it is unreasonable that they do not offer a refund if you are unable to use the service. Our child was with a childcare worker for ten minutes and started crying, and the childcare provider did not want to deal with a crying child. I respect that decision. However, I think not refunding, or even partially refunding, the fee is a poor business model when it comes to serving your community.

I really like the Englewood Recreation Center!

It has fantastic amenities and is very clean. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and most make an effort to remember your name and face. The weight training equipment seems very new, not to mention that there is an impressive variety and amount for a public rec center. They also seem to have a huge amount of classes, both fitness-related and non, for everyone from toddlers to elderly individuals. While I haven’t used the pool, it is large and never looks too busy. The plastic palm trees and cabana-esque awnings in the pool area are a cute touch as well.

I admit that I don’t pay for visits or a membership here, as I have a free membership through my employer. However, if this was not the case, I would probably still be inclined to purchase a membership.

It’s really unfortunate that I can’t give a better review because we’ve really enjoyed coming here for swim lessons for my 3 year old for the last 2 years, but since his original teacher left the program seems to have become incredibly disorganized. It seems that in general it was always this way but his teacher was so great and on top of it that we didn’t notice because she was very good at communicating with parents and making sure things ran smoothly. Now, no one on staff ever seems to have the correct information, even when asked directly and all information conflicts with what is available on the website when you register. There is zero communication with parents. This isn’t the fault of the new teacher or the staff as their superiors seem to be consistently giving them incorrect information or are resistant to providing information at all. I’m growing tired of getting my 3 year old excited for swim class and wrangling my newborn out of the house only to find that swim class has been canceled, moved, or we are given incorrect dates and we end up going home without getting to swim. In the scheme of things this kind of thing isn’t going to ruin anyone’s lives but I’m just finding it harder to pay for and accommodate something that is just causing us to get the run around half the time.

I have never worked out at the Englewood Rec Center but my daughter has taken swimming and dance classes there. We’ve done the baby swim classes twice and my daughter loved the fun games that they play as well as being able to crawl on the stairs at the end of class. I really like their swimming pool, it’s a lot nicer than some of the other rec centers we went to first and has a lot of space. The slide is really fun too! I also really like the swim instructors they are pretty young but still very knowledgeable and able to run the class well.

We just started the parent and tot Dance class this month and have really enjoyed it! The dance instructor, Miss Linda, is fantastic. She teaches them real dance moves and routines while allowing us parents to encourage our children to participate. It is such a great option for a two year old and when they are ready they can move up to the two-and-a-half-year-old class.

I’m a huge fan of their children’s programs. They offer a variety with excellent times and days, especially for working parents. Additionally their very affordable even if you live in or out of District.

The only reason I’m giving them for stars is because they need to get there registration software figured it out. I’ve had a lot of trouble signing up for classes because of bugs in the programs and I’ve had friends who’ve had trouble registering as well and ended up having to call the director to get it figured out. Other than that this place is great for kids, I highly recommend trying out a class.

This review is for anyone looking for parent tot classes or kids classes. The Englewood Rec Center is definitely one of the best options for everything from mommy and me dance to gym and basketball. We’ve been taking Mommy and Me dance classes for about 5 months on Saturday mornings with Linda, and they’re so much fun! They even provide shoes and props for the kids.

The staff is so nice and the center itself, while not one of the newer, fancier ones, is kept up and nice.
I have had some issues registering online, so call to do so, but definitely checkout their schedule for kids activities if you’re looking!

This place has everything you need, all for a reasonable cost. As an Englewood resident I pay about $26/month to use their facilities. The track, pool, and basketball court are always great to have. The aerobic machines and weight room have modern equipment with app based programs to help motivate. They have tons of classes, for those who need a little additional motivation. All kinds of recreational sports leagues, for all age groups. A fairly clean locker room and super friendly staff. Check it out!

I have been bringing my daughter here for classes on Saturdays for years now and have spent quite a bit there over the years. I used to be able to use the facilities while she was in her lessons. The last time I was in there I was chased down the hall by the front desk person who wanted me to pay another $6 on top of the money I spent on my daughters classes. I tried to explain that I have been coming here and spending money here for years and no one ever had an issue with me using the weight room for a few minutes or occasionally using a treadmill. I can afford the $6 and it is not a high price, but being that I am already paying for numerous classes and helping to keep their staff employed it does not seem like a big ask to maybe shoot hoops for a few minutes without having to pay more in order to do so. I do not use anything for very long so to pay another $6 for a few minutes of exercise seems ridiculous. Their response was very apathetic, in fact it was more like if you don’t like it, leave. I am looking for somewhere nicer to spend my Saturdays.

Love the customer service at this place! Everything is super family friendly and clean! The workers here put in a lot of effort, and should be praised for keeping it open during this pandemic.

I have been raised in englewood, I have been coming to englewood rec center ever since I can remember. I myself took swimming lessons there when I was really young. now I have children of my own, I enrolled them into swim classes. I legit have never experienced such awful, rude people. My children are talked to awful and the way I’m spoken to by the instructors is absolutely ridiculous, and when I brought it up to the boss of the pool, she told me”shes young and doesn’t have the best communication skills.”……… what! Then they shouldn’t have a job teaching our children if she can’t speak to the parents correctly. I will never be enrolling my children into Englewood lessons again, which is really sad because I’m an Englewood native and wanted my kids to experience the things and lessons I did.

It is a beautiful place for the kids, they really enjoy it and the staff are very friendly and always watching after the kids, I really recommend it for a nice weekend or day off with the kids

This is the BEST rec center in the entire Denver Metro area. Yes, I have to pay a little extra since I don’t live in Englewood – worth it. The weight room is very good – not crowded, polite users, right amount of equipment in good condition. The swimming pool is TO DIE FOR!!!The water is a bit warmer than other pools – since the therapists at Craig Rehab Hosp bring patients there. Seems never to be crowded, polite people sharing lanes. I WISH they didn’t have kids there with all the THINGS they expel from their bodies!!! Eek! But lifeguards there do a good job. Great shower/locker room – always clean.

Plus the #12 bus ends/starts its route there!

Horrible, a child threatened my child with a knife and no real steps were taken to protect my child. This place is unsafe for children
