going to build-a-bear when you’re 19? totally awesome.

minus the screaming group of 6-year-olds, our bear building experience was overall pretty enjoyable. we got to do the little ritual of picking out a satin heart, giving it a beat, kissing it, etc. etc. etc. which was ridiculous but hilariously fun, we got to “bathe” our bears, make birth certificates, and of course, listen to little kids scream, “STUFF MY BEAR!” whatever.

it was cheaper than i remembered it being when i was little, maybe because i didn’t buy all the like TOTALLY awesome high school musical accessories, but pretty decent for two handfluffed, bears that we stuffed hearts into. way too much fun for how mature i’m supposed to be.

We took our kids here to do something special with them on a cold and snowy day. We loved the experience and my girls had the best time picking out their favorite animals and clothes. It gets expensive, quick, but is well worth it. My kids havent stopped playing with them yet. Its something we may make a yearly tradition:)

I walked in and no one was in there so I got no help or greeting. When my son picked a bear the lady didn’t even talk to him, just told him to step on the button, was not much fun. Next my 2 year old goes and plays with stuffed cars they have there and the rude sales lady who was on the phone the whole time comes over and lectures my son that the cars are for the bears.. sorry do you not see me standing right here she could have talked to me about it not have ignored me and lectured my son, secondly I was going to buy that car but not now, I thought I was in a kids place where they could explore and create. The experience was not worth a $40 bear that my son hates. Never going back.

Great place for a birthday party! The party host did an amazing job with our daughter and her guests. It was a fun party, easy for the parents and the party guests loved their bears that they got to take home!

I have been to this Build A Bear regularly and have purchased many stuffed animals. Unfortunately, today might be the last time. I went during the early afternoon and found three employees working. A couple of other groups were in the store. My 5 year old picked out 2 animals on the 2 for $25 bin and we had them stuffed by a girl who was nice enough. After this, we went to the front counter to pay. Two of the employees were busy filling bears for children and a third was showing customers some clothes. She then came up front, apologized for the wait and rang us up. No issues. Left the store and walked to our car. As I was strapping my son into his booster, two employees raced outside shouting “Stop! Sir, you have to pay for those animals!” I looked up, confused. “I did?” I replied. “Sir, you have to pay for those animals we just stuffed!” the older lady said again. “I did” I repeated. She then said “Who rang you up? Was it _____?” I forgot the employee’s name so I said “I guess?” She then said “Well, she doesn’t usually ring people up. Do you have a receipt?” I said yes and began to show her. She then realized her mistake and said “No need, I trust you.” I said “Apparently not” and proceeded to show her the receipt. She then said “sorry for the mistake” with very little enthusiasm before retreating into the building. My son then was scared and began asking why the ladies thought we didn’t pay for his “stuffies.” Embarassing display from the employees there today. We have been repeat customers and probably have 10-12 of their stuffed toys but after this encounter, I am not sure I want to return. Get it together, BAB Centerra. -Disappointed

This Build-A-Bear is fortunately/unfortunately in the middle of a fairly busy part of this outdoor mall. This makes the experience very chaotic (every time we’ve been there, there are a lot of people in the location) and there is a lot of dirt. This makes for not the best of experiences while going and getting a pretty expensive stuffed toy for the kid. I would be much more entitled to give this location a higher ranking if it wasn’t so dirty every time I’ve been in there.

My wife and I walked in 15 mins before they closed. We knew exactly what stuffed bear we were going to grab. There were three other families in there looking over the bears who also came in around the same time we did. The lady working there said that they were closing in 15 mins and that they would not be stuffing any animals because they needed to clean out the cotton machine before they closed. Literally everyone in there dropped their items and cleared out. Why be open if you are going to close the store down 15 mins before posted hours? A lot of kids missed out on getting their gifts because the staff wanted to bounce out early.

Was not a fun experience. The employees seem miserable. Luckily my little one is only 1 and didn’t notice the rude employees. If she was older it would of ruined her experience. At least fake being happy for the kids or get a job that doesn’t require making kids happy

Went for my child’s birthday and they literally didn’t acknowledge her at all except to upsell products (to a 5 year old). Not a single happy birthday, they didn’t do the heart tradition they always do, we had to wait by the stuff machine for almost five minutes while they just stood and talked. They didn’t ask about her stuffing preferences, and the worker decided to give me unwarranted medical advice. My child was extremely upset about the experience. Tried to reach a manager and been waiting for a call back for a week, every sales manager I speak to is extremely rude and gives no information to get a resolution despite the first sales manager promising they would reach out and offer something to rectify the gross encounter. Apparently there’s only one person who can discuss the situation with me and they refuse or have forgotten to call me. My child looks forward to this every year and this year was a major letdown.

Great fun for the grandkids! Workers were nice and quality was very good. Expensive, but worth the experience

Hours listed are wrong. Google says 9pm. Even online their site says they close at 830, yet the employee didn’t let my husband and daughter in at 740. It was Valentine’s Day and the person working had zero compassion for my heartbroken two year old who had been looking forward to it all week. Zero stars. Will not return.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a birthday party here. My godson his older brother and their cousin. Fun had by all. It was a joy helping them pick their bears and outfits and the delight they had when bringing their adoptees to life.

    Highly recommend this place.

    They also have military discounts.

We brought our daughter here to celebrate her birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We’ll be finding a new birthday tradition elsewhere.

Our plan was to let her pick a stuffed animal and choose a few accessories within a set budget. However, the staff member immediately began upselling our 3-year-old by asking her about scents, sounds, hearts, and other add-ons without checking with us first. I agreed to a couple of the $7.50 upgrades, but when I declined an additional scent, the staff turned to my daughter and said, “Sorry, Mom said you can’t have that.”

It felt unnecessarily awkward and inconsiderate, especially toward a small child. Several staff members also seemed impatient and not particularly good with kids. Overall, the experience was disappointing–especially after spending over $70 on a single stuffed animal.
